Bandh - A very familiar word to every Indian......
Like I have mentioned 'Bandh' is a very familiar word with almost 80% of the population, as they were a victim of it at one time or other.....
Bandh is supposed to be a way to oppose a transition/reforms implemented by the policy makers, inturn makes all the businesses to be closed, to show that the majority of the ppl oppose the transform.
It used to be an optional one and based on unity and the inconvenience is limited.
Today's trend ---------
One political party calls for a Bandh (all the times it will be their personal benefit), local chota nayak's will create a havoc and forcibly bandh the business's,
Here there is no optional except the forcible shutdown.......All the transport will be shutdown, fearing that the ppl will cause damage to the vehicles and to the public commuting in them.
I feel that most of the taxes we pay are lost in these kind of expenses to repair or buy a new bus or coach or whatever. Another Bandh will be held again, if the vehicle damaged covering in a particular route is not replaced with another one.....
Also another Bandh if the temporary workers of the bus have to removed of no work, it will be a union Bandh and the RTC will finally run in to a loss(happening for years no).
As RTC is a govt. enterprise and a necessity govt is funding despite of the losses it makes...and in spite of the funds, no proper maintenance( Permanent staff for maintenance at all depots) and no timings....No one can correct them(Govt employees), as they have a job security.
If any one can see at the outskirts or in the depot of RTC, we can find hundreds of empty bull shells lying there.
Has anyone known about a fact that the Airports are shutdown , coz of the regular Bandh's....Think about it guys....
Back to Bandh......
No Transportation
No groceries
No hospitals
No Colleges
and Yes Liquor shops...
Happiest thing is that we get another Holiday at the end of the day. But what about a regular daily earning labor who buy everything on the same day to feed the family.....
I say that the political party should carry on voting from the public for a major reform or Bandh should be held at the Assembly or near the political party head quarters and not to trouble the public.
The voting can be done online or through the SMS using one ID......
